Volcano!

Today I listened to “The Creative Fire” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.  Ever since the “Your Creative Spark” podcasts, I’ve been ravenous for transporting words to listen to while I paint.  I am going to soak up everything by Dr. Estes, her voice is a WONDER, and then I’ll move on to Joseph Campbell.  This is just what I want right now. Because of all this creative fire, creative spark talk, I’ve been fantasizing »

Blue Sky

I don’t know what it is, but I just LOVE painting big, blue, mostly empty skies. You know, I can just see it, someday, I’ll just end up painting big giant blue canvases.  Hahaha!!! I started this painting tonight in my little Monday night art class, though class was pretty quiet due to the rain and the holiday.  I love winter in Arizona.  We seem to get a bit of a rainy season in January, and I guess that is what’s happening this »

Be The Light

Yay!  My first Wishcasting Wednesday!    Jamie asks “How do you wish to shine?” Oh man.  Right now I feel like I’m about to explode into a thousand different bright light colors and go zooming all over the world.   I am starting to LIVE BIG!! In fact, I’ve just today discovered what my theme for 2010 is going to be: LIVE BIG.  TAKE SMALL ACTIONS. So, I wish to SHINE, to move through the world, as a WOMEN WHO MAKES HER »

Back to class

First painting ever!

I take an art class through the Scottsdale Community Center on Monday nights.  I love it because it’s inexpensive, low-key, and the same really nice group of ladies are in my class from session to session.  It’s a mixed class, meaning some people do acrylic, and some do watercolor or oils.  For some people it is their first time painting, and some have been doing it for years.  I love that.  We started out doing copies of existing »

Big Sky baby

I spent the evening painting and listening to Jamie Ridler’s Your Creative Spark recordings.  I’ve wanted to get them for awhile, so I used some Christmas money and treated myself. These interviews are awesome.   I found myself laughing, crying, laugh/crying.  And to hear Goddess Leonie’s voice and sit through the short meditation with her was really moving.  So many women out there doing creative things.  It EXCITES me.  It’s so comforting »

The 2010 Creating My Goddess Year guide

I found Leonie’s guide through the Creative Everyday site, and because I am attracted to anything colorful and workbooky and instantly available, I had to grab it. I’ve spent the last couple of days working through it, and it has really helped me to appreciate everything I accomplished in 2009. This year the holidays had me feeling so down and so blue, and I was so over-focused on everything that I was going to change in 2010, that I FORGOT »

Leaning tower of craziness

This is what happens when I get a little too gung ho about perfecting myself.  I think it happens every new year. I spent two weeks literally trying to inhale all of these books and come up with the perfect way to become a perfect version of myself.  And I spent that whole time NOT PAINTING. Then I started surfing the web for more ideas and came across all these new and exciting projects springing up on many of the arty sites I like to visit.  »

Breakin’ out

Angie in the box

They just want us to be safe.  They just want us to be secure, to make sure our lives are not too difficult.  They want to keep us “realistic”, to keep us “grounded” so we don’t become impractical dreamers, so we don’t walk around with our head in the clouds.  So we don’t end up jobless and homeless and living on our parents’ couch. The fear of ending up jobless and homeless and living on my parents’ »
